Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 38 of the 46 jet-powered Shahed strike drones that Russia used overnight on October 7. Militarnyi reported this, citing the Ukrainian Air Force and its preliminary results of repelling the attack as of 09:00.

In total, Russia attacked Ukraine with 130 drones, and more than a third of them were jet-powered. Russian forces used Shahed drones, Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones. According to the Air Force, as of 09:00, 117 drones of various types had been shot down or suppressed.

The drones were launched from Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia. In addition, some of the drones were launched from occupied Donetsk and from Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

The preliminary results of the repelled attack, published by the Ukrainian Air Force, indicate a rise in the share of neutralized jet-powered drones. At the same time, as the outlet notes, it is too early to conclude from a single attack that this figure has improved steadily.

Jet-powered launched by russian troops is a big problem for Ukrainian air defence. However, The Armed Forces Of Ukraine try to find different ways to destroy them.
